What happens to IRS services after IRS Tax Kiosk Closures shutdowns?

Since this is with the IRS Tax Kiosk Closures, I am questioning whether there are any other ways of accessing basic IRS services. I would visit such kiosks to access my status and receive simplistic forms, whereas now I do not know where to go. Do you have the option of checking the refunds or downloading the forms online? Is there a different process in seeking assistance especially in the absence of the kiosks? It is rather annoying as one does not know where to twist and turn next.
